The cause of this brief was to prevent young people, primarily boys age 10-17 from carrying knives through the use of typography.

"There is no safe place to stab someone"

This line was inspired by an interview with a London based doctor whom described how she had stitched the wounds of many young victims. The question she is frequently asked by teenagers is "where is the best place to stab someone?". This campaign is designed to highlight to young people that there is absolutely no safe place to stab anyone.

The typography is inspired by the graffiti that can be found on the walls of any city in the UK. For the research process I wanted to look at type faces found on the streets. I went out and took photographs of multiple pieces. Basic typefaces were more intriguing instead of the more clichéd bubble font.

The text for each poster was hand drawn onto the model. This was to help to evoke the feeling for street graffiti. I then placed the subject in a single beam of natural light in order to give the canvas a 'shard' like appearance.
